Deuwch holl hiliogaeth Adda, I glodfori'n Ceidwad mawr, Gwisgodd natr wael pechadur, Rhyfeddod nef a daear lawr: Dyma'r Alpha, A'r Omega mawr yn Ddyn. Er bod lluoedd o angylion Yn ei foli yn gyttun, Yn eithafoedd trag'wyddldeb, Cyn ei wisgo â natur dyn, Roedd ei galon, Gydâ anheilwng lwch y llawr. Peraidd ganodd sêr y boreu, Ar enedigaeth Brenin ne'; Doethion a bugeiliaid hwythau Teithient i'w addoli e': Gwerthfawr drysor, Yn y preseb Iesu gaed. Dyma y newyddion hyfryd Glywyd gan angelion Duw, Fod y Ceidwad gwedi'i eni, I golledig ddynol-ryw: Ffyddlawn gyfaill, Bechaduriaid, molwn Ef. Dyma'r Bachgen aned i ni, Mab a roddwyd in' gan Dduw; Efe yw'r unig un arfaethwyd I waredu dynol-ryw: O'r trueni, Mawr cwympasom iddo oll. Ei enw galwyd yn Rhyfeddol; I drag'wyddoldeb felly bydd; Fe brophwydodd y prophwydi, Cyn ei ddyfod, am ei ddydd: Caw'd in' Geidwad, Gorfoleddwn yntho ef. Tad trag'wyddol yw ei enw, T'wysog y tangnefedd yw: Creawdwr mawr y bydoedd ydyw, A Chynhaliwr dynol-ryw: Hollalluog Daeth i farw yn ein lle. Dyma Geidwad i'r colledig, Meddyg i'r gwywedig rai; Dyma un sy'n caru maddeu I bechaduriaid mawr eu bai; Diolch iddo, Fyth am gofio llwch y llawr. Brenin trag'wyddoldeb ydyw, Llywodraethwr dae'r a ne'; Fyth ni wel hiliogaeth Adda Geidwad arall ond efe: Mae e'n ddigon, Y Trag'wyddol Fywyd yw.Morgan Rhys 1716-79 Golwg o Ben Nebo 1764

Come ye, all the race of Adam, To praise our great Saviour, Who wore the nature of a base sinner, Wonder of heaven and earth below: Here is the Alpha, And the great Omega in Man. Although hosts of angels were Praising him in agreement, In the extremities of eternity, Before he wore the nature of man, His heart was, With the unworthy dust of the ground. Sweetly sang the stars of morning, At the King of heaven's birth; Wise men and shepherds they Travelled to adore him: A valuable treasure, In the crib of Jesus was found. Here is the delightful news Heard by God's angels, That the Saviour has been born, To lost human-kind: A faithful friend, Sinners, let us praise Him! Here is the Boy born to us, A Son who was given to us by God; He is the only one armed To deliver human-kind: From the great Wretchedness we all fell into. His name was called Wonderful; For eternity thus it shall be; The prophets prophesied, Before his coming, about his day: A Saviour was got for us, Let us rejoice in him! Eternal Father is his name, The Prince of peace he is: The great creator of the worlds he is, And Upholder of human-kind! Almighty! He came to die in our place. Here is a Saviour to the lost, A physician to those who have wasted away; Here is one who loves to forgive Great sinners their fault; Thanks to him Forever for remembering the dust of the ground. The King of eternity he is, Governor of earth and heaven; Never will the tribes of the earth see Another Saviour but him; He is sufficient, Eternal life he is.tr. 2014 Richard B Gillion |
